Rules for the outfit on the court – basketball

“What is allowed, when nothing is allowed ?!”
We will follow and present the rules that athletes must meet in order to be admitted to the game by the commissioner of the competition.
Today, we will analyze the rules for basketball players.
What can a player wear under a game outfit? What type of clothing is allowed and what color? What should he not play with?
With ever-changing rules for additional players’ equipment, every player should know what to wear for a game to avoid penalties.
In the first place we will deal with thermoactive clothing.
The latest FIBA regulations, updated on January 19, 2017, allow any length of compression and thermoactive legs, in black or white, or in the same dominant color as match-fitting pants. The only condition is one color for all team players. Combinations of compression / thermoactive elements are allowed.
Similar rules apply to knee pads and elbow pads.
In the case of thermoactive T-shirts, FIBA prohibits the use those that protrude beyond the shirt of the game outfit. When this condition is met, it does not matter what color and type of thermoactive clothing the player chooses.
In the case of other elements, the rules are equally restrictive.
It is allowed to wear stabilizers on the knees, ankles or shoulder (they must be sufficiently padded and properly covered), headbands (max. Width 7cm), teeth protectors (colorless, transparent or white), spectacles (if their construction does not threatens other players), stabilizers for broken nose or face bones.
All listed elements must be the same for the players of the entire team.
Socks, in the same way as clothing, protectors or welts, should be of the same color and must be visible above the shoes.
The player whose shoes are not from the same model and / or right and left shoes have different colors will not be allowed to play the game. Illuminating, reflective or other decorations are also not allowed. For safety reasons, it is forbidden to perform in jewelry.
