What is thermoactive underwear made of?

The main task of thermoactive clothing is good moisture management. This property will be appreciated primarily by physically active people. Regardless of whether we train in the hall, gym or outside, thermo-active underwear provides convenience and comfort. However, to do so, it must be made of high-quality yarn. Do you want to know what materials are most often used by companies for the production of thermoactive clothing?

Is it worth reading the labels on clothes?

Of course. The label contains not only the exact information of what type of material the garment was made of, but also tips on washing or drying. By following the manufacturer’s advice, our thermoactive clothing will serve us for many years. Many well-known companies patented their own thermoactive materials, which were additionally equipped with various types of membranes, silver ions, etc. All in order to increase the everyday comfort of using such underwear. Often such manufacturers use complicated names when describing their products. However, the most popular materials for sewing thermoactive underwear include: Merino wool, cotton, polyester and elastane.

Cotton

It is a natural material that allows the body to breathe and is not too expensive. However, cotton retains moisture, so it can only be an addition to thermo-active clothes.

Merino wool

It is wool from Merino sheep, which is much softer to the touch than from our sheep in Podhale. The great advantage of thermoactive underwear made of this material or with its addition is that it provides thermal comfort, even at very low temperatures and unfavorable aura.

Polyester

The advantages of polyester clothes are numerous and difficult to overestimate, especially when it comes to sportswear, but only when modern polyester fabrics are used for production. Polyester as the main component of clothing makes it highly durable, easy to care for, resistant to mold, fungus and moth, and low hygroscopicity (i.e. polyester clothes absorb water very little). Good-quality sports clothing made of polyester allows the body to breathe and wicks sweat even during very intense training.

Elastane

Just like polyester, it provides flexibility, and thus clothes with its addition fit perfectly on the body and provide high comfort of use. Its properties make many producers eagerly reach for it.

Polypropylene

Although many people associate polypropylene with artificiality and harmfulness, it should be known that this material, despite its many disadvantages, provides excellent thermal insulation. Therefore, when going to the high mountains or preparing for outdoor training in winter, it is worth choosing clothes that contain a small amount of this material.

When deciding to buy thermoactive underwear, it is worth not only getting acquainted with the manufacturer’s description, but also checking the material from which the item was made. Only the highest quality yarns and attention to detail will ensure convenience and comfort. The Treen brand creates its clothes only from high-quality materials from Polish producers.
